No named app is “scientifically proven” to make everyone productive. Research supports methods and mechanisms; the app is only an implementation aid whose value must be tested in context.

Capture, priorities, and delivery Use one task system. Pick the simplest option that matches the number of people and dependencies involved.
Time protection and focus Start with native calendar and focus controls. Add a blocker or accountability tool only for the remaining failure mode.
Communication and async work These tools help only when response expectations, channel purpose, and meeting rules are explicit.
Knowledge, decisions, and learning Choose one shared knowledge home for teams or one durable note system for yourself. Add spaced retrieval only where recall matters.
Automation and AI acceleration Use these after the process, data boundary, error handling, and human review are defined.
Recovery support Software cannot repair an unsustainable workload. These are reminders around a workload and recovery plan, not substitutes for one.

Measure the work—not the performance theatre.

Pick one leading signal and one outcome signal. Capture a rough baseline, run the change for two normal weeks, and decide whether the system earned its cost.

There is no universal recovery time after an interruption, perfect focus interval, 21-day habit law, or guaranteed “10×” app.

Learn now

Bottleneck, WIP, and feedback.

A bottleneck constrains the result. WIP is started-but-unfinished work. Feedback is the measurement that tells you whether a change helped.

Revisit later

Migration, automation, and advanced dashboards.

Only add complexity after a stable process exists and a clear result justifies the maintenance.
