Install and start AEM Author on local developer environment

We will be installing AEM Author on Mac in this tutorial

Prerequisites: Make sure you already installed JAVA 11 on your local and setup JAVA_HOME

Download AEM instance:

Request a training instance from Adobe solutions partner portal by login in with your organization email and

https://solutionpartners.adobe.com/solution-partners/home/learn/tools/application_downloads.html

request a training instance using the request form https://solutionpartners.adobe.com/download/aemform/

Setup AEM instance:

java -jar aem-author-p4502.jar -unpack

Loading quickstart properties: default

MacBook-Pro author % cd crx-quickstart 
MacBook-Pro crx-quickstart % cd bin 

Start AEM instance:

Navigate to the bin folder under crx-quickstart folder and start AEM server

MacBook-Pro bin % ./start

Onece AEM server started hit http://localhost:4502/aem/start.html

It’ll redirect to AEM login page the default username and password will be admin/admin

Navigate to http://localhost:4502/system/console/bundles
Make sure all the bundles are active

    about this? what if you were to create a killer headline?
    I am not suggesting your content is not solid., but suppose you added something to possibly get people’s attention? I mean Install and start AEM Author
    on local developer environment – Binary Cipher is kinda plain. You
    ought to look at Yahoo’s home page and watch how they create news headlines to grab people to click.
    You might add a video or a picture or two to grab people excited about what
    you’ve got to say. Just my opinion, it could make your posts a
    little livelier.
